This week and next!

We have been very lucky and are extremely thankful to Cody Hartley – she has donated a defribillator to school – we hope we never have to use it, but if we do, then we are likely to save someone’s life.  It’s been a very busy week!  Cody came into school, with the defribillator and we celebrated this in our ‘Thank You’ assembly – South Leeds Live were also there to take some pictures – so watch out for us in the local paper!

Today children have come in dressed up for Children in Need – they have made cakes to sell and all monies raised will go to this charity!

Next week – is Bikeability for Year 6!  Class 11, 12 and 13 (Year 5) will visit Ledston Estate!

Monday 22nd is a Training Day!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Latest News

We had our first ‘live Thank You’ Assemblies on Friday!  It was lovely to see all the children together once again!  We talked about attendance and the importance of being in school, on time, every day – I will be visiting classrooms and celebrating those children who have been in school, on time, each week.  We have also been talking about our Packed Lunches and the importance of making sure it is healthy!  We want to see lots of fruit, water and a main item, eg, a sandwich, pasta, wrap, etc.  Again – we will be celebrating those children who have good examples of a healthy packed lunch.  We are part of a Lottery Funded Healthy Programme – The Creating Active School Project.  We will be developing this, this year and our aim is for children to move at least 60 minutes a day!  Keep an eye out on our website for more information regarding this!  We are also starting our Forest School sessions again – every child will take part in at least 6 sessions over the school year – again – watch out for more information on our school website!  This week in school – The Vikings have visited Year 3!  This is part of their topic and they will spend the day learning about the Vikings – with a real Viking visitor and real artefacts to bring this topic alive!   On Friday of this week – Year 6 will visit the cinema to watch a movie!
