Fantastic Easter Bonnets

I’ve been in school today and was able to see all the amazing Easter Bonnets that the children have brought in for the Bonnets competition. I must say that I’ m relieved on this occasion not be involved in the judging because it’s going to be a very difficult task indeed.

A big well done to everyone – the winners – and also those who don’t win – should be very proud of their efforts – the Easter Bonnets are absolutely brilliant !!

Kidz Klub Easter Assembley

Kidz Klub have enjoyed making this assembly that looks to explain why Christians across the world celebrate the festival of Easter at this time. As always, it’s done in a Kidz Klub style, hopefully in an engaging and easy to understand way for your children. You can watch it here –

The best way to sign your children up at present is to visit our website or give us a call using the details below:

World Book Day Celebration

Today I have had the pleasure of being part of the judging panel for the costumes celebrating World Book Day – a little bit after the actual day but it still didn’t stop our children coming to school in a whole range of amazing outfits ! Judging wasn’t easy, because there were so many great ideas and costumes, but we did manged to choose some winners, who were rewarded with a book of their choice from a great range of books provided by school.

Thanks then to all of the parents/carers who got involved in helping to make the outfits and thanks to all of the children who took part – you were all just great !!. Thanks also to all of  our staff who really got involved and indeed got dressed up as well – you were brilliant ! Must not forget also to thank Mrs Latham for organising the event and Mrs Bullock for helping with the judging, plus my wife for joining in the judging – you were all great as well !

Thankyou from School Governors

On behalf of School Governors I have some massive thankyous –  firstly to William Cook Rail for enabling us to obtain £100 to update our Year 6 book corner and secondly of course to our Year 6 children for engaging so well in their use of Doodle Apps, which won us the donation !

Another massive thankyou is to Lee Mortimer for his wonderful donation of £750 in memory of his late parents Dan and Anne, which will enable us to buy books for our school library. I understand that Anne became a volunteer reader in 2011 and as a fellow volunteer reader, I am so delighted to hear of this donation – thankyou so much Lee.

Dan and Anne Mortimer Memorial Donation

Lee Mortimer, the son of the late Dan and Anne Mortimer, has kindly donated £750 in their memory to Middleton Primary School to enable us to buy some much needed books for our school library. Lee and his brother Sean attended Middleton Primary School in the 1960s, as did their father Dan in the 1940s. Their mother, Anne, became a volunteer reader within school in 2011 and we are truly grateful that, as a school, we remain close to their hearts.

We would like to thank you so much for your generosity and we will be sure to share our new book additions with you all very soon.

William Cook Rail Sponsorship

Class 6, of Year 2, were challenged by William Cook Rail to have every child in the green zone on our Doodle apps at the same time. We are very happy to say that Class 6 managed to rise to the challenge and succeeded. As a result, William Cook Rail have kindly donated £100 for Year 2 to update their beloved book corner. We would like to thank them very much for their generosity.
