Parents/Carers,

We received a very disturbing email yesterday from PC Gilbert at West Yorkshire Police advising us that some of our children have been partaking in anti-social behaviour on and around the skate park on Acre Road.

"We are experiencing an increased volume in anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in the Acre Road, where numbers of young children are congregating in the street and the skate park directly behind Middleton Primary School.

In recent months the main issues are including:

Large groups gathering causing ASB such as loud shouting and swearing (heightened further during COVID-19 lockdowns
Stone throwing towards buses
Littering

In recent weeks stone throwing has become worse, with several First Bus’ being targeted and having windows damaged, on two occasions members of the public have nearly come to harm when windows have broken with one Mother’s baby nearly being hit and another person almost being struck in the face.

Recently, thanks to efforts of local NPT Police Officers and PCSO’s some of these children have been identified, however a large amount remain un-identified but have been seen to be wearing Middleton Primary School uniform. This is often occurring from 15:30 onwards throughout the evening.

Local NPT are taking positive action against anyone identified in this behaviour, however we would appreciate it if teachers could educate and advise students around this. Whilst it is a minority causing this, there is real risk of injury to persons if this behaviour continues and should anyone be identified there are likely to be criminal investigations."

Could you please talk to your children about the dangers of such behaviour and ensure they speak out if they know who is responsible.

Thank you,

MPS.

Parents/Carers,

Just a polite reminder of the process to follow should a member of your household have symptoms of Coronavirus:

* Temperature
* Persistent new cough
* A change in taste and/or smell

Firstly, a test needs to be booked for the person displaying symptoms and you all MUST self-isolate until a negative result is received. This means that no child should attend school if a member of their household is displaying symptoms and everyone should be in quarantine. Once a negative result is received self-isolation may end and the child(ren) may return to school.

If a positive result is received the person with the positive result must self-isolate for a new 10 day period from result date and the household must complete the 14 day period.

Should a test not be done then the complete isolation period must be served.
