Online Safety

****PARENTS/CARERS**** We have received the information contained here, from Leeds Prevent, to assist you in keeping your children safe online. We feel that with the current lockdown situation the links and information is important to share as we understand a lot of our children spend time online, more so with the restrictions we have in […]

Dear Parents

You will have seen in the media that the free school meal vouchers are starting again this week. These will replace the free school meal hampers that we sent out last week. We are in the process of updating the database to enable us to place the order with the Government’s approved supplier. The vouchers will be emailed to you in exactly the same way as in the first lockdown in March. Therefore it is imperative that we have the correct email address for you. We take the email address from Parentpay so if you have changed your email address since March or have not updated it in Parentpay, it is urgent that you do so today and email us on to confirm this.

Please note we will send the vouchers weekly for the next 4 weeks – at this stage the Government have not instructed us to provide them over the February half term. As last time, the email may go into your junk folder so please check this. We are hopefully placing the order by the end of today, so you should receive this week’s voucher in the next couple of days.

Unfortunately, as a result of the continuing bad weather conditions around West Yorkshire we have taken the decision to close school again tomorrow. We have not made this decision lightly and have taken into consideration the travel conditions for our children and our staff, some of whom live as far away as York. Public transport has either been strictly limited or cancelled surrounding the Middleton area and the roads are currently treacherous with more snow forecast to fall overnight.

We wanted to get the news out early to enable the arrangement of childcare for those who need it.

Remote learning will still be taking place, however please do enjoy some time in the snow!

Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather conditions, across Yorkshire, this morning the decision has had to be made to completely close school today due to staff having difficulty travelling. If you have a place in school for your child, please do not send them in today.

As a result of the closure, if you have arranged to collect a loan device we will advise when these can be collected at a later date.

Please accept our apologies for the short notice and stay safe at home ❤💙

As we are sure you have seen on the news, there have been many complaints regarding the standard of free school meal food hampers. We wanted to take the time to reassure you all that the hampers we are providing are of a nutritionally balanced standard and more than enough to fulfil 5 days worth of lunches.

Please see the hamper below for the contents.

Good morning Middleton Primary School Community. I woke up to snow this morning and lots of it!!

As you know, we have organised our Critical Worker and Vulnerable Children to attend school next week. As I am sure you can appreciate, we need to keep our numbers to a minimum. Please see the attached letter that outlines this. You will see in the letter if you are a Critical Worker and can keep your child at home then Leeds City Council and the Government are asking you to do this. Obviously, if you have no other options, we will support you, as we have always done. We will be asking you again next week, so please don't be offended that we are checking. This is what we need to do.

If you do have someone in your bubble who can look after your child whilst you have to work then please don't take up a place in school. We need to crack this virus this time around and keep the numbers in school to as small a number as possible.

We are expecting all of our children to engage in home learning as many hours are being spent devising remote learning timetables, in line with the curriculum, to ensure your child(ren) receive the learning they require to continue to flourish. If you need a device or data then please contact us; we will be able to support you with this in order for your child(ren) to be able to engage in home learning.

Your child's Class Teacher will be in touch next week to see how home learning is going via the telephone.

Thank you all for your continued support - it is appreciated!
